The NGDATA leadership team brings together years of experience in big data, artificial intelligence and machine-learning to deliver technology solutions for data-rich organizations across the globe.

Luc is a co-founder and the CEO of NGDATA. Prior to NGDATA, he co-founded Porthus (EU, 2000), which delivered cloud-based solutions that IPO’d in 2006 and was acquired by Descartes Systems Group in 2010 (US/CA). At that time Luc became the EVP global marketing, product strategy and chairman of corporate planning office (US/CA). After leaving Descartes, Luc observed what was becoming a massive expansion of useful consumer data and realized that consumer-oriented companies would need a solution to store, organize, sift and gain customer insights with what would become known as Big Data. Through his experience in artificial intelligence (neural networks, large data processing, rule-based systems, …) he decided to join forces to create NGDATA. Luc holds a Master in Engineering and Information technology (UGent, BE) and Executive MBA (Antwerp, Kellog, IMD).
Luc BurgelmanChief Executive Officier
Frank is a co-founder and COO of NGDATA. Prior to this, he was co-founder and COO/CTO of Porthus (EU) which delivered cloud-based solutions. While at Porthus, Frank oversaw all service, sales and R&D (off- and near-shore). When Porthus was purchased by Descartes Systems Group, Frank became executive VP (Global) R&D. Prior to Porthus Frank held management positions at Volvo IT and worked at the University of Ghent as a scientific researcher focusing on the application of artificial intelligence and expert systems, thesauri and ontologies in the area of document management and decision systems. Frank holds a master of engineering, with a focus on semantic data processing and machine learning from UGent, BikIT.
Frank HamerlinckChief Operating Officer
Steven is CTO and manages technology strategy for NGDATA. He was the co-founder of Outerthought – now known as NGDATA – and is the original designer of Lily, which sits at the core of the NGDATA software portfolio. He has 15 years of product management experience, delivering solutions in data reporting applications, content management and publishing systems and large-scale legal databases. Steven is extensively networked with the open source community in and around the Apache Hadoop Big Data ecosystem. Prior to NGDATA, Steven held various senior roles in technology consulting and product management with Alcatel and Wolters-Kluwer, specializing in complex and large-scale data management problems and content publishing. He’s a member of the Apache Software Foundation and holds a board position in the GentBC innovation platform. Steven holds a B.Sc. Printing Management, an Executive Master in CS and has been lecturing at the Antwerp Management School. Outside of work, Steven is a degreed chef, published folk concert photographer, mountaineer and a wannabe DJ, to keep up with his kids.
Steven NoelsChief Technology Officer
Didier brings more than twenty years of experience as a financial executive and consultant for mid-sized and large, global companies to his role as Chief Financial Officer at NGDATA. In his previous position, Didier served as CFO of Capco, a global business and technology consultancy firm, where he helped the firm grow from a privately-owned start-up in Belgium to a publicly-listed $500 million business with over 3,300 employees and global offices from San Francisco to Hong Kong. Prior to that, Didier worked at Ernst and Young. He holds a bachelor in accounting and post bachelor in tax from VPOO-VLEKHO. When Didier isn’t in the midst of financial planning for NGDATA, he enjoys spending time with his family and friends, running and cycling, or exploring our beautiful world.
Didier Van Der CoeldenChief Financial Officer
Jan De Moortel brings more than twenty years of experience in leading software development teams and product management to his role at NGDATA. As Vice President of Product, his primary responsibilities include overseeing both the product management and R&D organizations as well as strengthening the support towards NGDATA’s development team, sales and delivery organizations and external partners. Prior to joining NGDATA, Jan served as senior director of Text-to-Speech Research and Development at Nuance Communications, a company that provides innovative voice and language solutions for businesses and consumers around the world. Earlier, Jan held various R&D roles at L&H and Mentor Graphics, and before that he worked in the Tektronix AI Research Labs at IMEC, Leuven, researching the use of AI techniques for silicon compilers for Digital Signal Processing applications. Jan holds an MBA and a Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from KULeuven in Belgium. When Jan is not focusing on innovating customer experience management, he spends his time playing the guitar and enjoying life with family and friends.

Anne-Marie has over 17 years of marketing, branding and sales experience in high tech, government and information services industries. Anne-Marie started her career at IBM Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg) where she was in several sales, marketing and management positions. Before NGDATA, Anne-Marie was Head of Marketing at Port of Antwerp. Anne-Marie brings to NGDATA her focus on brand awareness, product marketing and lead generation. Anne-Marie holds a Master’s in Applied Economics and a Masters in Communications (University of Leuven), and she is currently part of the executive certificate program at Columbia University in marketing and branding.

Wim brings with him more than twenty years of experience in developing and supporting international software business relationships. Previously, he held the role of Global Partner Manager at ADAM Software, where he built strong partner relationships that drove incremental project-driven revenue through direct and indirect sales opportunities. Prior to his time at ADAM Software, Wim served as Director International Sales at Tech Data and as Director Channel & Strategic Alliances at Prometric, where he was responsible for evaluating new business opportunities and expanding the company’s presence in the marketplace. Wim holds a Master’s Degree in Electro-Mechanical Engineering from Katholieke Industriële Hogeschool. While Wim is not busy expanding NGDATA’s ecosystem, he spends his time playing golf, commuting between Brussels and Munich or simply hanging out with friends to indulge life.

Gil Rosen is NGDATA’s Head of Strategy and a veteran solution architect and data specialist. As former President and Founder of Eccella, Gil built a global data and analytics consultancy of 100 strong; advising on and implementing outcome-focused data initiatives for enterprises across Financial Services, Manufacturing, Retail, Media and Utilities. Gil also founded and oversaw Eccella’s Data Strategy practice, building out Eccella’s framework and methodology for aligning customers’ technology infrastructure and roadmaps to their corporate objectives. Gil is a Sloan Fellow and graduate of Stanford’s Graduate School of Business, and earned his Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering from UCLA.

As Global VP of Solutions at NGDATA, Guy Gotslak and his team drive innovative customer experience solutions for consumer-facing companies worldwide. As a former software engineer at Northrop Grumman and MySpace, Guy witnessed the growth and importance of data before moving on to become a co-founder at Eccella, which was eventually acquired by NGDATA. At Eccella, Guy spent 7 years building the US consulting practice to enable businesses to become data-driven. Guy leverages his breadth of technical and consumer-focused experience to lead a dynamic team of experts in designing modern, customer-centric, systems that perform, scale, and most importantly, create transformative smart experiences. Guy holds a bachelor’s degree in computer engineering (UCLA) and is a 2018 candidate for an Executive MBA degree (Northwestern Kellogg School of Management).

As the Vice President, Operations and Professional Services, Russell is responsible for delivery and support services at NGDATA. He has over 20 years of consulting, solution design, delivery, implementation, and support services expertise with a variety of international clients serving many diverse industries. Previously, Russell has held senior management positions in R&D and Finance, including Vice President, R&D Global Compliance and Supply Chain Execution at Descartes Systems, President of a Solutions Consulting firm and CFO for a transportation EDI VAN. When Russell isn’t deeply engaged in our customers’ success, he enjoys golf and travel.

Jens is Vice President of Professional Services and Operations in Asia-Pacific and has been calling the region his home for many years. In his prior experience, Jens was head of an Analytics & IoT division in Asia-Pacific with solutions consisting of BI & analytics, data science and Internet of Things where he was responsible for business development and operations. Jens joined NGDATA because of his passion for big data & artificial intelligence being applied in the customer data space to achieve the ultimate goal of creating great customer experiences. He holds a Master of Science in Business Engineering from Ghent University in Belgium.
Jens PonnetVP Professional Services - APAC
Roger is the VP of Global Support and Operations of NGDATA. Prior to NGDATA, he worked at various product companies like Porthus, Descartes and Itineris. Here, he was involved in both the product development, implementation and customer support for customers. More recently, he worked at the Cronos Group as Competence Center leader for Microsoft technology stack and in particular Dynamics 365 ERP stack. He is also a 10+ years veteran of the FedEx corporation in which he held various positions and was Managing Director of IT EMEA for more than 8 years. Through his interest and experience in business intelligence (he holds a degree in Business Intelligence next to his Master and Bachelor in Computer Science), he decided to join forces with NGDATA in 2017.

Molly has more than 20 years of marketing management and leadership experience with technology startups. Her diverse background covers all facets of marketing from advertising and digital marketing to public relations and promotions. She has successfully built marketing organizations from the ground up in both the US and Europe. Previously, Molly headed marketing at companies including Imprivata, Novell, SilverStream Software, Pilot Software and Powersoft. When Molly isn’t promoting the great solutions of NGDATA, she can be found skiing or hiking in the San Juan mountains of Colorado.
Molly GalettoVP Analyst Relations & PR
As the VP of HR, Bart heads Human Captial at NGDATA, with a special focus on the support of its growth. He has 17 years of HR expertise, specifically in the IT/Technology industry. Previously, Bart managed Human Resources at T-Systems BeLux, Real Software and international employment at L&H/Nuance Communications. Bart holds an HRM degree from EHSAL Management School and a Masters degree in Germanic Philology from Ghent University. When Bart isn’t busy finding great talent to deliver products and services to our customers, he can be found enjoying quality time with his family, reading great novels, cooking nice meals for family and friends or traveling to great cities around Europe.
Bart De NeveVP, Human Capital
Ian is VP of Sales for the UK & Ireland at NGDATA. For over 20 years, Ian has been helping organizations across Europe improve business results via the deployment of analytics, standardization and applications of big data & IoT. A firm believer in combining new technologies, data-driven decisions and industry insight, Ian started his career at National Instruments and worked in a variety of sales and leadership roles across the UK and France to take these principles to customers such as Airbus, Nissan, Saab and Thales. He then took on a key leadership role in 2015 for Sales Effectiveness at National Instruments, using this background of customer experience to lead a global evolution of sales process, tools and strategy impacting a $1B organization. Ian joined the Eccella team in 2016 to bring a data-driven approach to Finance, Manufacturing and Housing sectors, Eccella then because the heart of NGDATA’s digital transformation capabilities in 2018. Ian holds a Bachelors degree in Electrical and Electronic Engineering from the University of Surrey, UK.

Edwin Madou, who serves as the Vice President of Sales for Europe at NGDATA, has more than 20 years experience in business development and strategy, including an extensive software and services background. Edwin has held a number of executive leadership positions in the technology industry, successfully overseeing business development, sales strategy, execution and management. Before joining NGDATA, Edwin served as International Business Development Director for Protime, a provider of Workforce Management software solutions. Prior to that, Edwin served as Sales Director for Securex, and held top management positions at Descartes/Porthus, Siemens and Xerox. Edwin graduated from Lessius Hogeschool Antwerpen with a degree in commercial and financial sciences, and has received an entrepreneurial MBA from Flanders Business School, in association with the Kellog School of Management, Chicago.

Kailash has 20+ years of experience in setting up Shared & Captive Services Centres, Offshore & Remote Delivery Centres for IT Services & Global Back Office, BPO services for Non-IT Services in India. He holds an MBA from the prestigious Indian Institute of Management (IIM) and a Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering. He has worked with Global Companies like SAP, Vodafone, CapGemini and has extensively traveled around the world doing Consulting Assignments, Product Development and Support Services.
Kailash MaisekarDirector Shared Services
Bart is the General Manager for Europe at NGDATA. He brings more than 20 years of business, management and change management consulting, operations and delivery management experience to NGDATA. Previously, Bart held senior management positions in finance and operations at ENQIO and ING Lease. He has been a successful project manager of big strategic implementations and migrations, aligning business with IT at BNP Paribas Fortis Lease, Approach, and Greenflex. Bart has also helped on the development of several new software products. When Bart isn’t working to ensure our European customers’ results are on track, he can be found working at the further professionalization of the internal organization.
Bart CrommelinckGeneral Manager - EMEA
Rob is the General Manager of NDATA’s business in the Americas. He has spent over twenty years leading companies at the nexus of customer experience and technology. Rob has worked across 3 continents and successfully led digital agencies, built the US business for an Asian technology consultancy, and integrated IT services firms with creative agencies. In these roles Rob saw a large gap between the promise and reality of leveraging data to deliver compelling and personalized experiences. At NGDATA, Rob’s mission is to help customers harness this power, and make the promise the reality. Rob earned his MBA from Northeastern University in Boston and once a Microsoft Certified Software Developer a long long time ago.

Paul is the General Manager and VP Professional Services for NGDATA UK. For over 22 years, Paul has been helping organizations maximize the return on their data investment. With expertise in Data Integration, Data Quality and Business Intelligence, Paul has worked in a range of programming, analysis, consulting, management and executive roles. Prior to joining NGDATA (formerly Eccella), Paul was Technical Director at Information Builders UK and had over 15 years tenure working with a variety of blue chip and FTSE250 organizations to manage implementations of Enterprise Solutions across the entire IBI portfolio, maximizing early ROI from a value-led methodology.

Michel is a serial entrepreneur, private investor, advisor and board member, serving on the boards of public and private companies and private equity funds. He was co-founder, chairman and CEO of Clear2Pay, a finance technology company focused on global payment solutions, before it was acquired by FIS (Nasdaq: FIS) in 2014. Before Clear2Pay, Michel was founder, CEO and chairman of FICS, a fintech company specialized in online banking and compliance reporting. In 1999, FICS merged with Security First Technologies, creating the leader in Internet banking – S1 Corporation (Nasdaq: SONE), with Michel as its chairman. He also was executive chairman of Data4S, a data analytics specialist, focusing on anti-money laundering applications. The company got acquired in 2004. Michel holds a M.Sc. in electronic engineering and computer sciences and a degree in economics and finance from the University of Leuven in Belgium. He is multi-lingual and operates worldwide.

Ms Katrin Geyskens is a partner at Capricorn Venture Partners (www.capricorn.be) where she is driving the Capricorn ICT Fund focusing on venture investments in the areas of Digital Healthcare and Big Data. Recent investments include NGDATA, Right Brain Interface and Cartagenia. Katrin joined Capricorn Venture Partners through its merger with Quest Management in January 2012. At Quest, she was since 2001 responsible for venture investments in ICT companies and 3rd party venture funds, investing out of Quest for Growth (quoted on Euronext Brussels, ticker: QFG). Before this, Katrin acquired extensive experience in banking and management consulting at CERA Bank (now KBC), Merrill Lynch (now BofA) and A.T.Kearney. She currently serves as Chairman Elect for the Belgian Venture Capital & Private Equity Association. Katrin holds a Master of Business Economics: Business Engineering degree from KU Leuven and an MBA of the University of Chicago, Booth School of Business.

Dominique is long standing manager in the IT services and software world with key managements positions held in Cap Gemini as Group Vice President, Atos as Group COO and SopraSteria as Managing Director. He now is the CEO of ELS, European leader in digital legal tax and regulatory publishing encompassing 8 countries, over 2000 employees and over 400 MEuros. He is also Chairman of Rocket Lawyer Europe (a LegalTech company), Board Member of ESCP Europe, Investment Committee member of Parvilla II (a PE fund) and Treasurer of the French Publishing association (SNE). Previously, Dominique has been an independent Board member of Clear2pay. Dominique earned an MBA of ESCP Europe and a CPA graduation. Dominique is also a Knight of the French Legion of Honour.

Jurgen is the founder and Managing Partner of SmartFin Capital. Previously, he was founder and CFO of Clear2Pay (EU, 2000), a global solutions provider for payment systems to banks. Clear2Pay was purchased by FIS. Before founding Clear2Pay, Jurgen worked as Senior Investment Manager with Dexia Ventures, the venture capital division of Dexia Bank. He is currently member of the board at Itineris, Ribrain, Citymesh and Enqio, which focuses on Big Data and business intelligence consulting. Jurgen is also a member of the investment committee of Vinnof (PMV) and Sniper Investments. He holds a degree in political and social sciences, and an MBA from the University of Antwerp. He also has a postgraduate degree in corporate finance.

Manfred Krikke is a partner of HPE and has over 20 years of investment banking, operating and private equity investment experience in the technology sector. He spent 16 years working in the US and has a strong Silicon Valley network. Manfred is responsible for the firm’s investment processes and manages the investment team. Prior to joining HPE, Manfred was a technology investment banker at Montgomery Securities and a partner at TPG Capital, where he focused on technology growth investments. As an entrepreneur, Manfred was involved in growing a software company from its inception to a successful IPO on the Nasdaq. Manfred was further involved in over 30 transactions raising over $2 bln in growth capital for technology companies, including 15 IPOs such as Siebel Systems, Real Networks, Open Text, and Raptor Systems. Manfred earned a master’s degree in Business Economics from the Vrije University in Amsterdam. He is currently a guest lecturer on the topic of private equity at the post-doctorate Investment Management program at the VU School of Finance. He speaks English, Dutch, Italian, German and (some) French. Manfred resides in the Netherlands with his wife, Erin, and his 3 children.

Luc is the Partner of Venture Capital at Idinvest Partners, and focuses on information technology and services industries. Prior to joining Idinvest, Luc took part in the launch of the National Investor private equity program in Abu Dhabi (UAE), and served as investment director in the offset team of Giat Industries (Nexter Group) in Abu Dhabi. Previously, Luc was the CFO of Webcorp, and worked as audit manager at Cabinet Constantin. Luc serves as a board member for Crocus Technology, Groupe Bernard Julhiet, and Meilleure Gestion. Other investments include Cosmosbay (acquired by Solucom), Lea (acquired by HF), and Sefas Innovation (acquired by Docapost). Luc holds a Master’s degree in accounting, finance, and business law from Nantes University.

Doug Cutting has been working in the field of information retrieval for more than 15 years. He is the creator of numerous successful open source projects, including Lucene, Nutch and Hadoop. He currently serves as Chief Architect of Cloudera, Inc. Prior to this, he served three years at Yahoo! And before Yahoo, he developed novel approaches to information access at Excite, Apple and Xerox PARC. He serves as a Director of the Apache Software Foundation and holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Linguistics from Stanford University.

Mr. Jean-Francois Van Kerckhove (JF) serves as Vice President of M&A and Business Development at eBay. Prior to his current role, JF joined eBay in 2007 as VP of Corporate Strategy at eBay Inc., and subsequently led Operations and New Business Incubation for eBay. Before joining eBay, JF was SVP at Spirent Communications, and a member of McKinsey’s West Coast High-Technology and Corporate Finance leadership teams. JF started his career at the Alcatel’s Corporate Research Center. He received an M.B.A. from INSEAD and an M.S.E.E. from K.U.Leuven in Belgium.
Jean Francois Van KerckhoveVice President Corporate Strategy, eBay
Guy Weyns is a founder and managing director of Arundel Capital, an investment advisory firm based in London. A former faculty member of Harvard Business School, Guy joined Goldman Sachs in 1995 to work in the bank’s principal investments group as well as its financial institution’s M&A team. After Goldman Sachs he joined Morgan Stanley, where he became a Managing Director of the Global Investment Research division and led the development of the bank’s fundamental analysis and valuation tools. In addition, he created and directed Morgan Stanley’s flagship thematic research publication, the Blue Papers. Guy holds a PhD from Stanford University and an MSc in Electrical Engineering from the University of Gent in Belgium.
