Doug is the Chief Executive Officer at NGDATA and brings more than 30 years of international experience. Before joining NGDATA, Doug was Executive Director of Corporate Banking Solutions at financial services technology specialist, FIS Global.
 
Prior to this, Doug was CEO of payments technology firm, Clear2Pay America, which was bought by FIS Global in 2014. He also held senior positions with S1, Unisys and HSBC.

Shirah Wercberger

Shirah is responsible for the company’s financial strategy, reporting, planning, treasury management, and investor relations. She also oversees NGDATA's people operations, and legal compliance.
Shirah brings over 15 years of hands-on finance and operations leadership across high-growth e-commerce, biotech, and technology companies, both public and private, and spanning B2B and D2C markets. She is a growth-focused CFO, with experience scaling operational infrastructure to support enterprise growth, fundraising, and IPO readiness.
 
Shirah builds world-class finance teams with a focus on finance transformation - bringing financial data and analytics to the forefront of a business to deliver superior decisionmaking outcomes.
 
A native New Yorker, Shirah enjoys spending her time with her family, cooking, and cycling.

Jens Ponnet
Chief Growth Officer

Jens is Chief Growth Officer at NGDATA and is based in New York. He is responsible for driving the global growth of the company in partnerships, customer success and marketing.
 
In his prior experience, Jens was head of analytics and Internet of Things (IoT) in Asia-Pacific. Here, he was responsible for business development and operations. Jens joined NGDATA because of his passion for big data and artificial intelligence being applied in the customer data space to achieve the ultimate goal of creating great customer experiences.
 
He holds a Master of Science Degree in Business Engineering from Ghent University in Belgium.

Geert Crombez is NGDATA’s Chief Technology Officer (CTO) and brings more than 20 years of experience in the area of Product Development. Geert joined NGDATA in 2012 because of his passion for leading highly skilled engineering teams in challenging development environments.
 
Geert has evolved in various roles at NGDATA throughout the years: Enterprise Architect, Head of Research and Development, Director of Product Management, and Chief Technology Architect. Geert has helped to set the foundations and main concepts of the NGDATA product.

Michel is chairman of the board of NGDATA. He is a serial entrepreneur, private investor, advisor and board member, serving on the boards of public and private companies and private equity funds. He was co-founder, chairman and CEO of Clear2Pay, a finance technology company focused on global payment solutions, before it was acquired by FIS (Nasdaq: FIS) in 2014.
 
Before Clear2Pay, Michel was founder, CEO and chairman of FICS, a fintech company specialized in online banking and compliance reporting. In 1999, FICS merged with Security First Technologies, creating the leader in Internet banking – S1 Corporation (Nasdaq: SONE), with Michel as its chairman.
 
He also was executive chairman of Data4S, a data analytics specialist, focusing on anti-money laundering applications. The company got acquired in 2004.
 
Michel holds a M.Sc. in electronic engineering and computer sciences and a degree in economics and finance from the University of Leuven in Belgium. He is multi-lingual and operates worldwide.

Frederic is a partner at HPE Growth. He is responsible for sourcing, evaluating and deal execution of prospective investment opportunities in growth stage technology companies.

 

Frederic has expertise in FinTech and Enterprise Software, and is active in portfolio management looking after investments in NGDATA. Prior to joining HPE Growth in 2012, he built up international experience and concluded internships in a wide range of sectors.

 

Frederic holds an MSc. degree in Accounting and Finance from the London School of Economics, where he graduated with distinction. He also holds a MSc. degree in Business Engineering from the University of Leuven, where he graduated magna cum laude.

 

Frederic is a native of Belgium who is passionate about travelling and winter sports. He also enjoys fine food and having a glass of wine.

Amaury is a Senior Associate at HPE Growth. He is responsible for sourcing growth stage investment opportunities, market analysis and due diligence.

Amaury primarily focuses on HPE Growth’s Fintech and Enterprise Software verticals. In addition to covering prospective leads, Amaury is involved in HPE Growth’s marketing efforts and the portfolio management of HPE Growth’s investments in NGDATA.

Prior to joining HPE Growth, Amaury gained experience in early-stage VC at Mangrove Capital, in private equity at Edmond de Rothschild and was the founder of a technology start-up incubated in Silicon Valley.

Amaury holds a Master of Science in Finance from Imperial College London and a Bachelor of Science in Business from Queen Mary University.

Portfolio Operations Senior Manger, Eurazeo

 
Damien Fietta is a Portfolio Operations Senior Manager. As such, he is in charge of monitoring and valorizing the portfolio companies. He was formerly a Finance Manager.
 
Before joining the Group in 2012, Damien worked for the Asset Management department at Deloitte Associés for three years, where he carried out the audit of private equity management companies and their funds.
 
Damien graduated from ESC Montpellier, majoring in audit and finance.

Bart is co-founder and Managing Partner of Smartfin, a European venture and growth capital investor, investing in mid to later-stage technology companies with a focus on B2B technologies.
 
Before co-founding Smartfin, Bart was the Founder and Managing Director of Sniper Investments, a successful smart technology growth fund that was liquidated mid 2016. Before that, Bart gained experience as Investment Director of Partners at Venture and Managing Partner of Privast Capital Partners, both Belgian-based private equity and venture capital funds with a focus on technology investments.
 
Bart currently holds Board positions at several European technology companies such as Materialise (NASDAQ: MTLS), Betty Blocks, Eyesee, Hex-Rays, etc., and serves on the advisory board of Boston Millennia Partners II, a US based private equity firm he was associated with earlier in his career.
 
Bart holds a Master of Science degree in Applied Economics from the University of Antwerp and a postgraduate Master’s degree in SME management.

Katrin brings twenty years of investment experience to the Capricorn Digital team. Before falling in love with venture capital, she had a short career in banking and management consulting followed by a try at a start-up.

 

The first female president of the BVA, she served on their board of directors for ten years. Next to working for Capricorn, Katrin is a council member of VARIO (the Flemish Council for Innovation and Entrepreneurship) and a member of the supervisory board of EIT Digital. In 2020, she was named one of Belgium’s ‘Inspiring Fifty’, an award celebrating inspiring female leaders in technology.

 

Katrin is a Master of Business Economics: Business Engineering (KU Leuven) and she holds an MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.

 

In her free time, Katrin loves to visit hippodromes in France together with her husband. She is an avid reader of vampire novels and enjoys a good glass of wine (or two).

Dominique is long standing manager in the IT services and software world with key managements positions held in Cap Gemini as Group Vice President, Atos as Group COO and SopraSteria as Managing Director. He now is the CEO of ELS, European leader in digital legal tax and regulatory publishing encompassing 8 countries, over 2000 employees and over 400 MEuros.
 
He is also Chairman of Rocket Lawyer Europe (a LegalTech company), Board Member of ESCP Europe, Investment Committee member of Parvilla II (a PE fund) and Treasurer of the French Publishing association (SNE). Previously, Dominique has been an independent Board member of Clear2pay.
 
Dominique earned an MBA of ESCP Europe and a CPA graduation. Dominique is also a Knight of the French Legion of Honour.
